SBL INSURANCE AND INJURY POLICY

SBL doesn’t provide any personal injury, or personal accident insurance, this policy was created for our members to help highlight steps you can take to protect yourself and investigate the option for additional personal insurance cover.

BLANKET INSURANCE POLICIES FOR PERSONAL INJURY AND THEIR VALUE

Some local clubs and associations offer a blanket insurance policy for all their players. SBL does not believe there is true value in offering insurance policies like these. In our experience they do not deliver the optimum output for the injured party.

OUR COMMITMENT TO MAKING SPORTS ACCESIBLE AND COST EFFECTIVE

We believe sport should be accessible for everyone. We are committed to keeping our costs cheaper than other sports. Additional annual insurance policies can mean your registration fee’s increase, and we don’t want to pass that cost on.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU BECOME INJURED?

  • If you are injured at an SBL competition, you should make yourself known to the closest staff member. You may be required to supply your name and we may take details about the injury and incident for your protection.
  • If needed, our staff can supply simple first aid equipment and offer to call an ambulance.
  • Please note that we strongly recommend that all players have private health insurance and consider income protection insurance as we do not cover accidental injuries whilst playing.
